Seriously considering changing the direction of this blog…. I have a few blogs in other areas, including Live Journal, MySpace and Blogger…. guess you can never have too many, huh?

Still working on the websites as well, just not as much lately. Been too busy with other things, like survival. Just trying to stay positive is a full time job and takes almost all my energy.

Getting the Hang of It

Well it’s now many months later and I have gotten the hang of using Filezilla (wow is it ever easy once you understand it) and have a few different ‘free’ sites of my own that I’m working on, all currently under construction. I have some ideas for each of them, all in different directions. Still wanting to learn more in-depth HTML. I know I should learn CSS as well, however I take one look at it and my head spins. Will just have to give myself a bit more time before tackling it.

My latest

Well, through perseverance and some help on one of the forums I frequent, I was able to get my FTP up and running (yay!). To see my “work in progress”, see: http://www.willowraven.artistsworld.org/main.html .

Right now I’m having some problems with trying to figure out something really basic. I have some links in a blog that redirect to another area on the web. I used html coding for my post. However no matter what I do, I cannot get the words to change color from the default color of blue to something else of my chosing. You see, the background is kinda dark, and the blue is hard to read against the darker background, so I was trying to lighten up the link colors. I managed to get the regular text of the post to change just fine – it is just the link color I can’t seem to change. I even changed the “link color” in my blog html to white (“FFFFFF”) and it still will not change it. Before I report it to the admin for the site, I just want to make sure that it is not something of my own doing, especially since I am NO expert at this. Makes sense? So if anyone out there is reading these, please feel free to leave me a message of assistance. It would be MOST appreciated!!

Thanks, and happy designing!!

I feel like my brain is oozing out of my ears. I have been trying most of the day, in vain, to understand the ins and outs of how to use an FTP (Filezilla). I have printed out information from different sites, downloaded WordPress (managed to get it uploaded to my Filezilla – not sure how!) as well as Notepad 2 for my text editor, however I am unable to see the changes at my webspace. The site is basically for the use of ‘sig tags’ that I make and offer (and for the pick up of said tags) however I can’t even get the site to look the way I want (header, background, etc). I feel so stupid. ARGH! ::bangs head against wall::
